A 2.75% non-refundable service fee will be charged by the payment processing company for credit or debit card payments made online, by phone, or through Auto Pay. The service fee will be added to your payment amount, itemized separately on your receipt, and is not refundable.
No service fee applies to eCheck, ACH, cash, check, money order, or in-person credit or debit card payments made at the VTES office or the Virginia Tech Bursar's Office.
Payments may be made by the following methods:
- Credit or Debit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express), eCheck, or ACH in person at the VTES office located at 601 Energy Dr, or the Virginia Tech Bursar’s Office located at the Student Services Building at 800 Washington Street, online at billpay.vtes.vt.edu or by phone at 866-377-8732
- Autopayment from your checking account or Credit or Debit Card after signing up through billpay.vtes.vt.edu
- Credit or debit card Auto Pay transactions are subject to a 2.75% non-refundable service fee charged by the payment processing company.
- Checking account (ACH or eCheck) Auto Pay transactions incur no service fee.
- Text to Pay from your checking account or Credit or Debit Card after signing up through billpay.vtes.vt.edu
- Credit or debit card payments made through Text to Pay are subject to a 2.75% non-refundable service fee charged by the payment processing company.
- The service fee will be added to your payment amount and itemized separately on your receipt.
- eCheck or ACH payments incur no service fee.
- Checks: Make checks payable to Treasurer of Virginia Tech -- Electric Service
- Money order
- Autopayment from your checking account or Credit/Debit Card through our website at billpay.vtes.vt.edu
- Levelized Plan
- There is a $50.00 fee for all returned checks, eChecks and direct debits
Pay Online:
Visit our website at billpay.vtes.vt.edu to register your electric service account or use our QuickPay option. Please note online payments will be posted to your account within one business day.

Auto Pay:
After signing in at billpay.vtes.vt.edu, select "Bills and Payments", then "Auto Pay".

Text to Pay:
After signing in at billpay.vtes.vt.edu, select "Bills and Payments", then "Text to Pay" to sign up. You will receive a text message every month when your bill is due and be able to pay by text using your saved payment method.
Payments made using a credit or debit card are subject to a 2.75% non-refundable service fee charged by the payment processing company. The service fee will be added to your payment amount and itemized separately on your receipt. Customers may avoid this service fee by using eCheck or ACH as their saved payment method, which are available at no additional cost.
Pay by phone:
Call 866-377-8732 and follow the prompts. Be sure to have your account number handy. Please note IVR payments will be posted to your account within one business day.

Pay in Person:
Please bring your bill and payment to our office at 601 Energy Drive or to the Bursar's Office in the Student Services Building at Virginia Tech. Cash, check, money order, credit card, and debit card payments are accepted.
No service fee applies to in-person payments, including credit and debit card payments made at the VTES office or the Virginia Tech Bursar's Office.
Payment by Mail:
Please return top portion of your bill with your payment in the envelope enclosed with your bill. Retain the bottom portion for your records.
Pay in Person After Normal Business Hours:
A night depository box is available at 601 Energy Dr. Checks or money orders only, please do not put cash in the deposit box.
